Nereye? Daha yeni geldin.

Gerçekleri görme vaktin geldi. Çıkar at gözlüklerini!

Daha ilk dakikasında, olayın farkına varacaksın. Kendine geleceksin.

France and the United States of America

In this essay I will discuss their government structure and current policy challenges, Both the United States of America and France are democratic states, but a closer look at these countries reveals that France is a national state and the United States is a federal state. We see some differences between these two republics, particularly in their executive, judiciary, and legislative bodies. We will focus on the executive bodies, specifically the presidency, and current policy cahallenges .

 Executive Body (President)
The United States has a persidential system similar to the semi-presidential system of France. The president is the strongest person in execution. In the U.S.A, the President is indirectly elected by the electoral college, which is directly elected by American citizens. It is for this reason that there is a strong president. The president is elected through two main steps; first, American citizens elect whomever they wish to represent them on the electoral college, and those selected to be part of the electoral college vote for the president. Such a simple election process allows for a very strong president. Also in France, the President is directly elected by the people, giving him more authority and legitimization. The prime minister is appointed by the president, however, and not elected by the people.
There is a separation of  power in France; the executive branch is handled by president and the legislative branch is handled by the parliament. In France the head of state is the President, and the head of government is the Prime Minister.
On the other hand, in the U.S.A’s federal system, the government is devided into the national government and sub-governments. Each state in U.S.A  has a court system, government, and parliament. The equivalent to the president, on the state level, is the governor. The governor is directly elected by the people, and he is head of the state government. In the federal goverment, the president holds unique powers such as the ability to declare war, make treaties, regulate trade, and so on. The power of state government is limited to regulating civil affairs, education, and traffic. Monetarily, the federal government  can support the state government by granting the state money and telling it how to use it. Both the state and federal governments share the right to tax (through federal taxes and state taxes) and punish people.
In France, the executive body consists of two people: the president and the prime minister. The president is the visible head of state. He is above parties, and acts independently to solve questions. He can submit some important issues and put forth legislation for referendum. He can dissolve parliament and call for a new election should his support for the prime minister diminish. Balance between the prime minister and the president is key to maintaining a strong government: the president is strong thanks to his direct election by the people. He is not a symbolic leader like the prime minister.
There are certain things which the federal government cannot do in U.S.A. For example, the federal government cannot change amendments. Similarly, the state governments are forbidden to limit rights and priviliges of American citizens unless it is allowed by the Constitution. In France, the Council of senato (the president) can advise the council of minister (prime minister) to initiate a law. The council of minister can propose a law to the senate, national assembly, or a member of parliament in order to try to get it passed.

Current Policy Challanges
When we look at the current policy challenges faced by the two countries, we see many differences between them but also many similarities.
Fighting against terrorism is the most imprtant issue in U.S.A. After the September 11 attacks of 2001, George W. Bush announced that the plane crashes had been planned and executed by members of Al Qaeda, an international terrorist organization of radical muslim fundemantalists led by Osama Bin Laden. But in France we see problems like crime, urban violence, and political corruption. In both countries there is an unemployment problem. In France, the unemployment rate is 9 percent. In the USA there are also issues involving illegal drug trafficking and economic recession. In both countries, illegal immigration is a problem. In France There are many immigrants because of the decolonization (multicultiralism…) and the colonization of north africa (Algeria) so islam is the second religion. The anti-immigrant party referred to as the National Front is rising, and this in turn is influencing other parties to negatively change their immigration policies. In the USA there are many  African American people, but in spite of desegregation and an end to slavery, in many places they still lag  behind whites. For example family incomes, crime, imprisonment rates, formal education, housing quality, family stability, vulnerability to such diseases as AIDS prostate cancer, and life expectancy are worse for African Americans than for average white Americans because there is still unequal opportunity.
In France, citizens are particularly concerned about the enviroment and genetically modified food. After the September 11 attacks on the World Trade Center, there was a dramatic rise in anti-American sentiment, especially among the French. In the early years, American economy has struggled with a brief recession and a weakening dollar as well as a stock market that lost over 40 percent of its value between the years of 2000 and 2003. In France, there are very high taxes imposed on certain goods. For example a television is a luxury item. The poverty rate is the lowest in OECD even high employment. It is one of the wealthiest countries in the world.

Research Method Ödevim (Bir araştırma yöntemi yazım örneği)

POPULATION

What is the main reason for a high population rate ?

The reason for a high population rate is underdevelopment.

The independent variable is the rate of population.
The dependent variable is underdevelopment.
The unit of analyzis is the country.

What does being underdeveloped mean?
As a term, development refers to the sytematic growth of a country and the change involved in the growth process in relation to other countries. In order to understand whether a country is developed or not, we should look at its evolution and development level. Through observation, we can specify the underdeveloped countiries

What is rate of population?
The population rate is determined by the number of babies born in a country in one year. Underdevelopment in some countries signals a high rate of population in these countries.
In order to discuss our thesis, we should describe the countries as developed, developing, or underdeveloped. To determine which of these terms is best suited to describe a country, 5 main criteria can be used to examine the countries. These criterias are as follows: economic growth, technological and industrial development, application of democracy, whether or not the country is a welfare state, and education level.
According to these criteria, France, Great Britain, the USA and Japan qualify as developed countries. Brazil, India, Turkey, Israel, and China, on the other hand, are considered developing countries. Some of the underdeveloped countries are African countries.

Where can we find this data?
First of all, beacuse we are discussing countries’ development levels, we should look at the statistical data and the countries’ institutional data, as well as former research, the media (i.e. newpapers, television channels), and the international  agencies. For many countries, we can easily find data about income per capita, gross domestic product, and the inflation rate.

The  Research Design
In research, we dont use the experimental design because when we want  to study the non-individual concepts like cities, countries and organizations, we use the more practical non-experimental design. Even though it is not as strong an experiment, non-experimental design in non-individual studies provides us more realistic consequences. We are collecting data about the countries, and we will test the hypothesis. If the hypothesis proves possible, we can achieve a causal conclusion. Then, we can look at the relation between variables.

When comparing countries, we should focus on how we compare them. We are using small N design (N is the number of things that we are looking at). In the comprative method the unit of analysis can be an individual, institution, event, or country.
When comparing countries, we first identify the countries with high population rates and the ones without high population rates. We should find out which countries are developed, developing, or underdeveloped. Then we show the similarities and differences among them and discuss these conclusions that we achieve.

Literature view
When looking at the history of developing countries and how they developed and then look at their population rates in the years after World War 2, it should be easy to notice a decrease in population, because the population decreased during both world wars. We should study books that discuss developing countries and their social, economic, and cultural reformations, and how these reformations affected the population. We should look at the countries’ reports that focus on the relation between development and population. Institutional reports and statistical knowledge are important to test our thesis and find some answers about it.
